A Story of Transformation
Sarah, a dedicated member of the Iganga Women Poultry Group, shares how the El Cantare Foundation's support has transformed her life. Once living in a collapsed old house, Sarah now proudly stands in front of her new home, built entirely from the income she earned through the poultry project.
What began as chicken farming has grown into a livelihood. With profits from poultry, Sarah constructed a new house for her family and expanded into selling bananas and tomatoes in her community. This second business has become an additional income stream, helping her easily cover her children's school fees and daily family needs.
Through the Foundation’s scholarships for her youngest son, her elder son is now pursuing a nursing course with Sarah’s income. Sarah also credits El Cantare Foundation’s educational books for inspiring resilience and growth. She shares these teachings within her community, encouraging others to start small businesses and embrace self-reliance.
